I am concerned with how art functions both as object and image. My work vibrates along the boundaries of these two ideas, never exclusively committing to one or the other. The application of a variety of media and the use of paper are essential to my process. The compositions are improvisational and dictated by how the materials respond to my actions. I layer and build until an overriding idea emerges.

As my work occupies a space that overlaps both physical presence and optical image, it similarly finds itself somewhere between representational and non-objective abstraction. It refers to the outside world very loosely, but its primary objective is to give the viewer a sensual experience rather than illustrate or depict anything in particular. The work relates to the viewer what something feels like rather than what it looks like.
